BIG QUESTION

Since I started high school I never really thought about what kind of job career I would love to do . More throughout my sophomore year, teachers have said somewhat like " as students you got to start thinking about what you want to be/do in life in advanced , so you get in that right path to lead you to what you want". I would always brush off of what they would say because in reality, I no way would like to think about the future because it would scare me and still does because I don't know what it holds. Now , that I see my high school years going by so quickly, I now started thinking seriously about my future because right now it's just my junior year and another year of high school and I'm out into the "Adult Life"  , but I have no idea what I would love to do as a career . This is just background information which leads to my question. " How can I find it in myself of what I would really love to do as a career " ?...

  1. The future is very scary to think about in my opinion. As a senior, it's even more frightening.

When it comes to thinking about a job, the most important thing is picking something YOU like to do. I remember growing up, I was extremely good at math. I'm taking AP Calculus and AP Physics right now, and I am excelling in both those courses. I always knew that I could apply these skills to a high paying job, like becoming and engineer. My parents really loved that idea. However, it wasn't something I truly enjoyed. Yeah, I was good at math, but I didn't see myself doing that for the rest of my life. It wasn't until one of my best friends was hospitalized that I decided what I wanted to do. When he was hospitalized, I did everything I could to ensure he had a quick recovery. Even afterwards, I helped him maneuver around in a wheelchair. Though it was hard work, I enjoyed helping. That event helped me realize that I enjoy helping people and I would love to continue doing that; right now, I want to be a nurse.

Also, when it comes to having a career/job, you don't have to limit yourself to one thing. In college, you can major in more than one field. And if you have more than one interest, you can find something that involves things you're interested in too. Or perhaps even have a job on the side. You pick :)

There is a quote that says the following: "If you love your job, you'll never have to work a day in your life." Keep that in mind when looking at jobs and careers :)
